12th Annual UKTE Softball Tournament

TIME: Registration at 10:30 (to organise team and time for warming up). Matches to start by 11:00 sharp. Please arrive on time! 

DETAILS: Good day out to have some fun and hopefully enjoy sunny weather! Feel free to play or just come along to cheer on the others. Teams will be organised based on common interests/organisations. If you have specific team requests, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate. We will do a round robin of some sort; expect about 3 games. 

FOOD/DRINK: Burgers on the grill will be arranged for mid afternoon break – around 1:00/1:30. For Vegetarians, no worries, we can accommodate a veggie option for the grill. Drinks (i.e., beer, water, and coke) will also be provided! But if you think you may drink more than 2 or 3 – please bring extra! 

COSTS: Eating/Drinking & Playing - £15/$24 per person
Eating/Drinking Only - £10/$16 per person

 We will go to the Red Lion pub afterwards, which is right across from the pitch. Closest trains/tubes are Barnes overground station (can walk or take bus from there) or Hammersmith tube (then get bus to Red Lion)

Texas vs OU LIVE Game Watching PARTY

Many a championship contender has been decided on this day as a result of this fierce Big 12 rivalry.  Oklahoma has won two straight after a 28-20 victory in 2010 and a big 55-17 over Texas to win in 2011, and they've taken 8 of the last 12.  Texas leads the series, begun in 1900, with a record 59 wind, 42 losses and 5 ties.  Come early, be loud, stay late and wear orange as this is sure to be a rocking game and rocking venue watching it LIVE!

Scholarship Update: James thanks UKTE

Our 2007 scholarship UKTE scholarship winner James Wakefield took time out from his first semester's studies and activities to write and thank UKTE for his scholarship award:

"I am writing to offer my sincere thanks for selecting me to receive the Texas Exes Scholarship for the United Kingdom Chapter. I am truly honoured to receive this scholarship and I am determined to justify your choice by fully embracing university life in Austin and striving for academic excellence."

James, pictured here at the Scholarship Awards Dinner, went to school in Hampton, Middlesex, UK and is majoring in History at UT. His $1000 award raised was from donations at UKTE events.

Play Flag Football

Every Saturday at 12noon in Hyde Park

We play for about 2 hours at noonish almost every Saturday, rain, shine, and ESPECIALLY MUD! We get about 8-16 guys out and there's always post-game "analysis" at the pub following the carnage.  Map to GS Field

Event Highlights

	Thanksgiving Dinner  Here are the photos from our annual family event, when we join up with other alumni groups in London to celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional turkey dinner and all the trimmings. Here are the photos
	Halloween Party Many thanks for making the Halloween Party our biggest and best ever! We had about 200 people, some great costumes and we raised a massive £1150 for the UKTE Scholarship. Check out all the pics here
	5th Annual UKTE Softball Classic Congratulations to the Rest-of-the-World team from Texas Tech, TCU, Rice, Michigan, Virginia, Nebraska and others, captained by Sean Seton-Rogers, who triumphed after coming from behind in the bottom of the final innings in the championship game to snatch victory from the University of Texas team.  Thank you to everyone who came out and made it our biggest and best Softball tournament ever. 	UKTE Dublin trip We partied it up in various Dublin bars, learnt about Guinness, got confused by hurling and generally had a good time. Check out the photos of the trip here.
	The Sixth Annual UKTE Pub Crawl This years pub crawl was our biggest ever - thanks to everyone who came along and showed their support, particularly the Boston College contingent. Along with having a great time, drinking too much and shouting at referees, we raised £176 towards the UKTE scholarship fund. Here are all the photos
